Silvretta Haflinger Stud

The Haflinger is a breed of horse native to Austria, remarkable for their versatility.

For more information visit the Haflinger Society of Great Britain
or the Haflinger Horse Breeders Association of the Tirol.
The Silvretta Stud is home to four Haflinger stallions -
Nomad, Bernhard, Oxnead Windsor and Stagsden Amaretto.
Nomad and Berhard are both in their twenties and are now retired from regular stud duties.  However, we are taking bookings for Oxnead Windsor (Windy) and Stagsden Amaretto (Rocky) for 2010.
Helen Blair was one of the first in the country to own Haflingers and has been breeding them for many years.
You are welcome to visit the stud and discuss your breeding plans with Helen, who is always willing to share her wealth of knowledge of the breed.
We also take in young Haflingers for backing and educating and older animals for re-education and sale.
A number of our home-bred animals work in the riding school here and also compete in a variety of disciplines - the endurance team in particular are enjoying great success this year with home-bred Silvretta Grand Marnier (Gizmo) and Silvretta Acrobat (Batty) both achieving Grade 1 at recent rides, along with stable-mate Oxnead Wheatear (Wheat) who is at livery here.
This serves to illustrate the versatility and stamina of the breed.
